Tapio Kauranen: Entrepreneur since 2012

I founded my first company in 2012 with the idea of offering Google Ads advertising to businesses.

I realized early in my entrepreneurial career that it would be better to focus my training on Google and WordPress.

While coding WordPress sites, I was able to dive deep into the world of search engine optimization.

I created a few sites for my own use so I could practice SEO. Most of these websites are still online.

Now and always working remotely

In 2020 I got fed up with the winter and decided to escape the climate and head south.

The coronavirus pandemic made a huge number of people realize that work can be done effectively remotely from home. And if it can be done from home, it can also be done from abroad.

As soon as I had the opportunity, I set off to travel around Europe.

A couple of years of digital nomad life was enough, however, and I decided to settle permanently in Portugal.

Today (2026) I have lived in Porto for almost four years.

In 2020, after eight years of my freelance career, we joined forces with Juho Liljeroos and founded a joint agency called Kasvuasiaintoimisto Kansleri

Kansleri provides high-quality digital marketing at a fixed price. There are three of us: Me, Olha Kushnir and Juho Liljeroos.

I personally focus only on handling Google and WordPress matters.

I accidentally built Finland’s most popular gym website

Saliohjelma.com ranks number one in Google for almost all fitness-related keywords such as “Saliohjelma” and “treeniohjelma”

The site collects 250,000 sessions per year from about 80,000 Finns. The site was originally built as an exercise in search engine optimization.

I wanted to build a site on a topic with tough competition. In the search results, it competes against the world’s largest brands like Adidas, as well as small local brands like gyms.
